We could fix everything
05:59
|
|||
We need some rain or else this whole town will go up in smoke
Something is wrong and things just might explode
We were chasing false profits then things got out of hand
But if we can work together there's a chance we could get out of here alive
And begin to mend things
We could fix everything and have enough for everyone
We can choose who gets help and who gets blown away
We can change, we know how, we can wake up and fix everything
The road to hell is paved with half-hearted intentions
Don't let them say things are beyond repair
Now we need to mend and share, or we'll run out of road
But if we can work together there's a chance to beat starvation
And disease and the floods and wildfire
We can fix everything, we have solutions by the score
We can try to get help to those who're washed away
We can still spread the load with a thousand new inventions
We can fix everything
We should fix everything
Look at the wind! Look at the rain!
Money talks, the weather screams!
This is the final call, or nothing will grow of this earth
Leave it another year, people will die that don't need to
Why are you waiting?

It will get brighter
07:47
|
|||
When cold winds wail, the rain is falling too
And all the things you try are not working for you
When fences need mending, engines won't start
And you're too far away from people close to your heart
It will get brighter, it will get clearer, it will get warmer, we will be nearer
I never doubt that we can get stronger.
All the dreams you put on hold, all the times you walked the floor,
All the siren voices that say "Turn around and just use the door!"
Never be faint hearted, give up before you've started.
When you're working around the clock, with a sentimental block
It will get brighter, it will get clearer, it will feel warmer when we are nearer.
There's so much to this - but we can do this!
If it's too shallow to swim in we'll still be floating.
And you still take my breath away, and we can find a better way,
It will get brighter, it will get warmer, we will be closer.

Don't look down
03:50
|
|||
Forget the future, you can't predict it. We want our freedom so don't restrict it.
Forget the tightrope - don't look down
It's complicated; let's make it simple. Don't over think it; take the easy option.
Forget the cliff-edge - don't look down
If you believe in things you don't understand, the chances are that you will suffer.
If you pretend it's all a hoax watch your step - 'cos it's a long way down.
I have the answer, it's staring at us! There's nothing to it, stop blinding us with science.
What was the question? Now I'm not so sure.....
If you believe in things you don't understand, the chances are that you will suffer.
If you believe it's all a joke watch your step - you could fall like a stone
Forget the future, I didn't see it coming!
So what's that cooking? A whole lotta loving.
Forget the cliff edge, don't look down.
It's complicated. It's been over-rated. I know the answer but what was the question?
Forget the tightrope, don't look down.

The new me
04:46
|
|||
It wasn't easy, creating the new me
It's been a long haul, seemed like a brick wall
But now that I'm healthy, respected and wealthy
Maybe we could meet again
Now I'm much stronger, days seem so much longer
Living a slow life - you may say that it's no life
But I'm in control now, I'm ready to roll now
We could have it all this time
I used to eat only take-away
Sweet snacks, I couldn't break away
Drinking, smoking, coke and cake every day
Yes I did my share
My morals didn't stand scrutiny, my body started to mutiny
But hey, excesses and gluttony, it wasn't so bad
I'd hate people to think I regret a thing
It's almost risk free, embracing the new me
Because I'm reformed now - we could whip up a storm now!
A beacon of virtue, it's time to convert you
Won't you raise a glass in sympathy?
